East Grinstead Bookshop is the quintessential English book shop, full to the rafters of wonderful books, both new and secondhand, staffed by people who have chosen a business they are all passionate about. Once in a while we have the opportunity to move a few bookshelves and utilise this historical and unique setting for singer songwriters to deliver a performance of songs and chat in this intimate venue. Unreserved seating is available. To provide comfort audience capacity is limited to 40.


The Bookshop, sitting in the heart of Englands` longest street of timber framed buildings, Tudor House boasts many interesting features. Its black and white beams, unique cork oak cladding, fascinating carved faces, is one really the head of Anne Boleyn and do they really have a ghost? Soak up the history explore the nooks and crannies, and browse their shelves.


Parking is also available on the High Street, free after 6pm and free all day Sunday. The Bookshop is a fifteen minute walk from East Grinstead train station.

The Hawth Theatre (Studio)

The Hawth Studio is in an intimate 146-seat theatre style seating or an 80 seated cabaret style arrangement. Their online booking service offers a secure way of booking tickets. They ask wheelchair users, hard of hearing or visually impaired patrons, those with special access or seating requirements, and those using Hawth vouchers to call the box office on 01293 553636. They advise you to create an account before looking for tickets as they will only be held for a certain time and may be released before you finish creating your account.


Please note, they are not currently accepting personal bookings at box office. Tickets can also be obtain by calling the box office on 01293 553636, which is open Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm. The box office is open two hours prior to a performance. Their online booking service offers a secure way to book with the option of choosing seats. They accept all major credit/debit cards. Please note they do not accept American Express or Diners Club cards. The Hawth is a cashless venue.


Crawley is minutes away from the M23 motorway which links to the M25. The Hawth is well signposted on all major routes into the town. There is free car parking on site for 250 cars.


Three Bridges and Crawley train stations are both situated a fifteen minute walk away from the theatre. Both stations have taxi ranks immediately outside.


The Hawth offers a pre-show meal. Come two hours before the show and choose from their menu. To reserve a table, simply make a reservation with the box office when you book your tickets. Table bookings should be made at least a day before the show and customers are advised to arrive 90 minutes before the show to secure their table.

The Chequer Mead is a purpose built, 320 seat theatre which is fully equipped with a full range of modern supporting facilities, these include dressing rooms, scene dock, orchestra pit and a state of the art lighting and sound system. Chequer Mead offers a variety of ways to book, pay and receive your tickets. To book your tickets you can call, email, write or visit. Chequer Mead is a cashless venue.


They ask that wheelchair patrons book in advance so that they can help during your visit. Please discuss your needs with Box Office staff when making your booking, especially if you are using a large wheelchair. They offer complimentary tickets to carers whose presence is essential. 


Two large pay and display public car parks are opposite the Chequer Mead. Please note parking charges apply before 6pm Monday to Saturday.  There are three disabled bays in the theatre's car park and there are additional bays available in the public car parks opposite.


The Pavilion Bar is open alongside their Theatre Café. Selling a variety of bottled and draft beers, spirits, wines, fruit juices and soft drinks.

Upstairs at The Dorset Arms

The venue is above The Dorset Arms pub. Its low ceiling do not lend itself to a raised stage, so the closeness of the guests makes this room an intimate venue that can accommodate up to 80 guests. Seating is available for around 50 on a first come basis. We are a listening audience and guests go downstairs to the pub to refill their glasses, etc.


A large pay and display car park is available at the rear of the Dorset Arms. Even on the busiest nights it is very rare that space is not available. Please note parking charges apply before 6pm Monday to Saturday. Access to the car park is through the archway adjacent to the pub entrance. Parking is also available on the High Street and free after 6pm, and free all day Sunday.


The Dorset Arms offers a hot food menu and there are other restaurants within walking distance.

The Stag has a theatre, two cinemas, Plaza studio, cafe/bar and kiosk auditorium. There is level access for two wheelchairs in the cinema and space for three wheelchairs in the auditorium. Level access is available throughout in the Plaza. There is a lift to the first floor, upper foyer, cafe/bar and upstairs toilets. The Stag Café offers light refreshments Monday to Saturday 10am-5pm. The theatre has 450 seats and the Plaza 150 (300 standing).


Tickets can be booked online, over the phone 01732 450175 or in person at the box office which is open Monday - Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 12pm-8pm. To support the theatre and the provision of box office services, a £2 admin fee is charged per sale.


Latecomers will be admitted to shows at the discretion of the Front of House manager and when there is a suitable break in the performance. If you or your guests would like a wheelchair or transfer seat, the venue are happy to help but they must be booked in advance. One companion/carer will be admitted free. The venue would ask that you let the box office know any specific requirements you have when you book.


The theatre is a fifteen minute walk from Sevenoaks train station. There is pay and display car parking at the rear. This car park can become busy on show nights so please allow enough time to park. There are a number of additional car parks within a short walk of the theatre
